Zartis began life as a lean and mean startup, and it needed a strong logo with which it could proudly announce itself to the world. A visually interesting symbol was created, the letter Z is abstracted, something that can stand on its own and alongside the likes of Twitter and Facebook icons.
The first version of the Zartis app was built in an amazing two weeks. The framework was based on a responsive model, HTML5, CSS3 and all those good things. It has since been refined and continues to get more powerful and gorgeous looking.
Quickr is a one stop shop for banking and mobile top up amongst other features. I was contacted early in to the development of the Quickr iPhone app to develop an icon that could stand out from the amongst the hundreds of others. I think it does a good job in being visually striking and hopefully being an interesting face in the crowd.
LocalMarkets is Ireland's first online marketplace to buy food form local and organic producers. The image of Penny the hen came to me in a flash of inspiration. It fit in perfectly with the friendly tone of the site and has since become a favourite with customers.
The site needed to be a simple as possible, stripped back to let the message stand out. We refined it over many months armed with user testing, cutting out extra wording and ornamentation. Many variations have been produced and Zartis will always be in a state of development. There is no such thing as perfection on the web, but you can get pretty damn close.
Every designer needs an outlet when working on commercial projects, and so poster art is what I turn to when I need to let some creativity loose. It's still my favourite medium and the themes I deal in are music, technology and the space race.
Playfolio gets exceptional talent, for the coolest gaming companies. The logo needed to be 'playful' and also in the tradition of that classic gaming style. I think it gets the job done very nicely.
I needed a strong Swiss influenced logo to brand my personal poster art. No nonsense.
