WeddingDates.ie is a site that allows engaged couples to select their chosen wedding date and get back an interactive listing of wedding venues with civil ceremony or reception availability on that date.
Ciara Crossan, the founder of WeddingDates.ie asked us to create its branding and logo, something that would reflect a modern approach to planning a wedding. She also wanted something with a twist.
Strong vibrant colours were agreed upon and a modern yet slightly retro type face, Chalet was used. We wanted to keep the logo clean and workable so that it would work across a wide number of media, including being pasted to the back of a running bride!
It was felt that the typeface was strong enough, so we opted for a simple type treatment without a symbol. Yet it needed something to bring it alive and the joining of the letter ‘ds’ was a perfect signifier for the brand.
